Illusions of Society Interfere With Questions of Existence

We work incredible hours, kids in school now have insane amounts of homework. They’re training you to be a fucken drone. You work all day in school and you come home with hours homework, to a point where you’re accustomed to doing things you don’t want to do. And you’re going to take that and you’re gonna go to college. Eventually you’re going to get a job, and that job is going to require hours of your day to the point where you don’t have time to think about space. You don’t have time to think about if there is some sort of weird connection between every human being on the planet and every single action you do is really a part of some gigantic mathematical equation that’s too bizarre and unrecognizable to the average person. There’s no room for those thoughts when you have to get up for work in 5 hours, your baby’s crying, you gotta get gas. There’s all sorts of issues that prevent people from thinking about the real weird aspects of this life. JBS Haldane said it best, “The world is not only stranger than you suppose, it is stranger than you CAN suppose.”

 There is no Up, there is no Down

The really deep scary stuff is too daunting for a lot of people. They don’t want to know what’s behind the door. It’s too scary, they want to control their micro world. That’s why people like having a small group of friends, living in a small community, they like to know their environment. When you get into really crazy shit like quantum physics, you get into the idea of an infinite universe, the idea of multiple universes, it’s just too much. It’s too crazy to think that above you literally goes on forever, there is no roof. Step outside your house and you can make a straight line from your fucken head to a star that is 14 billion light years away, that’s insane. One of the things that hit you when you do mushrooms, you start realizing that there’s no ground. There’s no up, there’s no down, you’re in the middle, there’s no edges, it goes forever and you’re right there, swimming in this universal soup.
